Hmmm... reality is more amazing than fiction and we've just proven it with the Traveller system gen rules and the Trappist system :)
I'd say stick with the sysgen rules as is but feel far freer to move things around as needed. You can always hand wave that nature keep throwing up surprises! Or just expand the LZ for the little stars.
