Over on the RPG.net forum, they have a special sub-forum for D&D and d20 games. It's
more strictly moderated than the rest of the board (which is already pretty firmly
moderated), and edition warring, even in the mildest forms, is outright prohibited. This
is because, in the day, the d20/D&D edition wars filled the rpg forum and caused
endless moderator headaches, bans, and permanent bans of otherwise reasonable
people.
So, there were (and undoubtedly still are, in the 'right39; places) D&D edition wars.
D&D3.x/Pathfinder vs D&D4 was a pretty big war, as D&D4 was quite a different beast
from what went before, and it split the fan base.
