Thanks for the info on FFS2, I'll have to see if I can summarise the options. I also recall reading on one of the Traveller mailing lists about the amount of supplies needed per person per month - another thing to track down.

On the ship mission, I had a quick read-through of the RSB yesterday: given the Regency's rejection of the frontier-opening referendum in 1196, I think they will present it as a snooper/scout - assiduously avoiding any mention of diplomacy missions. That does not mean they won't be considering the latter, but that they want the ships, not debates in the Senate and Moot.

As an aside, thinking about the RQS and diplomacy - I get the feeling that they'd not be interested in anything but multi-world polities. The state-building that the Hivers have been engaging in would be of little interest to them.

I've always pictured it as not only including air and water recycling but also to include a small galley ((well if you calla microwave and a two burner hot plate a galley) and a small area for food storage, I've always assumed 30 days/ person.

Everything from-I'd rather ear my boots-gruel tanks to colony life support to scrub air, water, and other human byproducts, and production of foods.
