1. You have the Regency and the RC bumping into each other sometime before
1214 or so. At least that was the date in Vampire Fleets in so far as I
recollect...

2. After the Promise Vampire main gets smashed by the RC (in a planetary
invasion that probably made Guadalcanal look well-supplied), does the RC
get more or less attention from Vampire fleets, or does Solee become the
bigger concerns?

3. I know the Hivers are trying to get the RC to stand on their own, but
Solee being the threat that it is, you think they might consider releasing
some elements of their Navy to help the RC out. Sure, the Solee navy has
standards that would make the worst Imperial officers blanch in embarrassed
fury, but one cannot ignore they have some rather large ships out there,
and they're as much a threat to the Hivers eventually as to the RC
currently.

I couldn't remember if we had published a notional date for that or not.
But we must have, as you pointed out, because I do recollect discussion
with people about how that felt "too soon," and I replied that that was
just the leading edge of exploratory missions, and not the main bodies.

IIRC, the idea is that the Sandman storyline would allow the RC to start
taking over vampire ships (Puppeteer virus which can take over other
vampire ships is allied with RC) so that attention that they do get can
allow them to increase their numbers. That doesn't mean that all vampire
ships now = RC, you'd still have to fight some, sometimes lose, but if RC
has their own vampires now and can turn other vampires to their side,
vampire attacks are more manageable than they were.

I was thinking the same thing about direct Hiver Navy intervention, so
that would be a possiblity if the Hivers felt their manipulation to get
the RC to stand on its own as a buffer against dangerous humans were in
danger of failing. So that is a legitimate course of action, but one that
Hivers and RC as well would want to consider only as a latter resort.

contact noted from reaction of RQS to Sandman in Vampire Fleets
is 1208
I think the Hivers would first offer some logistical help. There
would be a separate manipulation to have the squadron protecting
such logistics stumble into the Solee. It that would be the claim
following a misjump... Or initiative of a Solee commander who
caught wind of the Stepping Stone worlds and put 1 and 1 into
3...

Iirc 1204 was when the scouts met, 1208 was when the fronts met and 1214 was the end of the black sphere.
