I am...somewhat close to a copy of it, what is the specific question? Do
you just want to know how it works, or what one finds if one
reverse-engineers it?

We did this on Citizens in April. Its the same table as found in World Builder's for MT, and is is *supposed* to be an Inverse Square table to represent how solar energy available to the world falls off with distance. Somewhere along the way it became an Inverse Square Root table instead.

The mistake apparently goes back to Book 6, though not in the same form; it is embedded in other formulae. The result is a milder temperature range on either side of the habitable zone for an orbit or two. In the regime of Titius-Bode Law orbits that still has little effect on the number of habitable worlds, but with T-B out the window officially now, the possibility for closer orbits and multiple worlds that aren't hellholes is very real... in our imaginary space game.


Awesome! That puts the pieces together. I'm trying to mix and match the TNE
system and GURPS Space 4e together - inspired a little bit by the rain
question. I'm going to have to try Trappist-1 in TNE.
