Regrettably they knew about the coding (the engineers that is), but the
accountants saw an opportunity to save some cash.
It's the age old accountants logic spend 40,000 to save 4 pounds :-)
As an aside, when I first joined the army in 1981 as a junior soldier. We
had to give a talk about our hobbies. Mine was on Traveller.
Our civilian instructor comment at the end, was to ask if there was any
player characters "who were not criminals?" Lol
