Meshan would have been among the first areas of Vargr space hit by Virus as it spread via the higher travel frequencies through Ziru Sirkaa space to Windhorn and then to Provence and Meshan. Once out of the beaten zones of the 3I into the healthy but disorganized Vargr states, "wildfire" is about as apt a term for the progress as any. This early in the spread the murderous inclinations of Virus would still have been very strong, and once it hit a state (OppAlliance)with a solid philosophical opinion toward another state (Ruler of Five) I can't see the genocide slowing down. The Ruler of Five looks like a large and well organized state, which means the Virus probably ripped across it in all directions on the commercial traffic alone, but if the RoF had fleets near their rimward borders those would have been coopted early. Shudder.
With your plan, I would be tempted to apply collapse modifications harshly and then see who survives. The old politics is probably all but gone by 1200.
