Most of the stuff in the KB source book is pretty legitimate and wouldn't cause me any concern. UWP data I wouldn't worry one bit about, History of the Deep... I'd do some research on that to see if the KB's put it out in their original 1970's publications if not I think the earliest reference of history I found was on Kevin Pittsinger's Candles Against the Night website and that was probably back in the mid 90's. Thus, if you can't find an earlier reference it's quite possible that Kevin came up with the history and not the Keith Brothers.
Google is incredibly useful for finding authors and examples of plagiarism, I have a friend who's a grade 11 teacher and he regularly cut and pastes paragraphs of things his students have given him into Google. Quite often you can find things date stamped on line. Most lists have archives and most fanfic authors typically run their ideas past other fans as they're creating things.

Yes, I have found many inconsistencies. I just discovered a web site called videogamegeek.com which has a page called "Atlas of the Third Imperium: Reaver's Deep". It lists all the official publications that came out before the RDSSB, and I think I have most of these, so I can use those to cross check the data.
Thanks Derek, as I've said before, quite difficult to track down and acknowledge original authors.
Brett.
