Back then Traveller had a lot of bad art, but compared to what else was
out there, it wasn't much worse than others. Do you guys remember what was
in the original three little D&D books? They came out four years before
Traveller, and the state of the art had not advanced that much. The fact
that Bill Keith's Star Warsy sketches were so adored is an indication of
what the field was like. The art in the first AD&D monster manual was
pretty all over the place too.

Jaquays drew some bad ships, but I recall that he did a couple of
endearing ones. I can't think of what they were, though.
