Another thought occurred to me. When were the Solomani Rimward exploration vessels supposed to return? I picture them arriving years after the virus devastation. These ships would have been loaded with the then state of the art Solomani technology but still vulnerable to infection. The ship or ships become infected but the Sols are able to fight it off – they were also huge research vessels with again much redundancy and possibly some alien tech which helps fend off the virus. (Did they run into something similar in the far reaches, Cylons;))
So we have these great vessels moving through the wreckage of the Confederation, the scale of the disaster mind boggling, the crews now looking for a new home and carrying whatever they brought back from their explorations. Where do they go, what impact would they have on the great rebuilding. Do they become ‘missionaries’ etc. Lots of potential there.

On a different note could a 700,000 dt Superdreadnought piggy-back a AHL in its jump field, assuming the AHL can be somehow attached to the Superdreadnought?
