There was no problem on your part (or Brett's, for that matter).
On my part, I have long had a problem of not using enough tact. My wife
often
tells me that I sound strident and condescending when I *talk*. It has to be
worse when I write. So, I want to be sure people (not just your and Brett)
know that I am merely sharing my opinions and observations. That's all.
