While you're just discussing the subject, you don't need to worry
about affixing credit. However, if you do any kind of formal write up,
whether here or on a web site, then just include his name among the
list of contributors. And if you feel a note is necessary explaining
that he started the thread that you're building on, then by all means
add it.
