I took a look through it but it's hard for me to say where I think they're headed. There's still the Aslan component of the sector that needs to be discussed. Are there any remnants of either the Woal Warliyir or Aoiftu Roakh still around? I see that a few of their worlds were spared. Was there any continuity among the clan heads? Are they holding with the old ways/attitudes or have they forged a new direction?

The Aslan worlds, whether Hierate Colonies, or members of the Woal Warliyir or Aoiftu Roakh seem to have been particularly badly hit by virus. Why they were more susceptible is open to conjecture. My personal view is that the two Aslan states and the Hierate colony worlds each used fairly standard computer systems of their own, ie the Woal Warliyir had one system, the Aoiftu Roakh another and the Hierate Worlds a third, though its possible that the Woal used a Hierate based system (looks like I still have to do some history for this group!). Wheras the human settlements were all largely independent of each other and developed their own systems, though many were Solomani influenced. The other possible reason is that the Aslan worlds seem to have had slightly higher tech levels than those of the majority of the human settlements in the sector making them more liable to virus impact.

 

An examination of the surviving Aslan worlds left a number of possibilities which could retain some starship capacity. Though as at 1201 Imperial none retained a manufacturing capacity in this area. The Aslan world most likely to recover is Heahyer a former Hierate world which though much reduced in population still retains a TL11 and has a C class starport, this world prior to virus was run by a single Hierate clan with possible some smaller subservient clans present. Post virus it has a Civil Service Beauracracy indicating to me that the Female Aslan have taken over virtually complete control. What this means for clan structure has yet to be determined. Assuming the world can maintain its remaining ship there are a couple of worlds within jump-1 and -2 range.

 

Htaahk in the same subsector also potentially still has access to starships having fallen back to TL9 but has a lower population base.

 

Of the Aoiftu Roakh worlds only Tliy has retained sufficient technology but with a population down to only 4000 future development is likely to financed from off-world and at present this means the human states of the Delsun Czarate or the Alston League, but in any case not in the near future.

 

The Woal Warliyirs best chance was Thalkarl which retained a tech level of 9 but again its low population (about 300,000) would make life difficult. Plus sometime during the virus period a large number of human refugees ended up here and now represent about 57% of the current 700,000 on this world which they have renamed Petermann.

 

Effectively the Woal Warliyir and Aoiftu Roakh appear to have been destroyed. There are no doubts remnants of their various cland scattered around but without any way to tie them back together again and with, in the case of the former Aoifto Roakh, the nearest starfaring neighbours being emerging multi-stellar human states times look bad for these Aslan.

 

Given their location though, the Aslan of Heahyer have the chance to establish a new Aslan state. Its structure may not be that familiar to the classic Hierate Aslan (unless of course clans were set up as buearacracies?) but the picking in that subsector (Heahyer (Hkaihwya), E) are rather thin and they would need to expand into the denser stellar regions of the Estoc (B) subsector.
