1,000 years, going on 1100, really. For the Third Imperium. If you're
including the Ziru Sirka and the Rule of Man and the Interregnum (Long
Night), then I'll grant you a probable 11,000.
My early hate-on for TNE, though, wasn't really either the rules (though
I wasn't enamored of the GDW House System; I really did prefer the CT/MT
system) or the setting /per se/; what I hated was the way they got to
the setting - too fast, and because of my career orientation and the
speed of It happening, It absolutely shattered my suspension of
disbelief.
