To be fair, CotI isn't the place to be if you want to talk about any version of Traveller that isn't Classic or T5. It's distinctly unwelcoming (if not downright hostile) to people who like any other version of the game. The "old guard" who love CT are usually more likely to be hostile to the changes wrought in MT and TNE (and GT), and MongT isn't really on their radar. And then there are the people who are wasting their lives on T5, though I guess fixing it has become a hobby in itself for some of them.
But you know what? Who cares. It's just the way it's always been, and I don't think anything is going to change that. T5 certainly isn't going to bring everyone together, even if Marc kills every other version of Traveller so it's the only one left (though if that happens, people will just continue playing their favourite version of the game and no new people will come into the fanbase, and it'll die out eventually).
Just play what you like, find other like-minded people to discuss things with (be it here, or on the SFRPG boards or anywhere else) and have fun with it.
