Got me thining

When I was doing the music posts I was thinking about the various factions of the Final War. I really think Lucan gets an unfair deal. His advisers and/or Imperial guard as soon as Strephon shows up should have put a bullet in his head an ended it true but he was a legitimate heir and even though he was a bastard the majority of the Imperium should have backed him. The more I think about it the true bad guys where Craig and Margret. In Craig we have a Sector Duke who hurt his ArchDuke who was fighting the Solomoni when he pulls out and takes his navy and economy with him. Altair should have sent a little group of Syleyan Rangers to visit him and put someone else in that seat. He in the sceme though was minor as all he did was a small at most sector problem. Margret on the other hand,tried to paint herself as a legitimate candidate for the throne. That would be like What Haig tried to do when Regan was shot but with several states actually following him along. She at best weakened Lucan to the point of causing the Black War. If I was Lucan or one of his senior people I would have made it a major effort to eliminate her with extreme prejudice hate to say it but even the twins, they would have been a target of a snatch op.
