Just a thought I am kicking around:
There are a lot of smaller Droyne nations scattered through the systems in the near Area of Operations. How much do the Hivers know about the Droyne?
Do they know that chirpers are feral/uncasted droyne?
Do they know about coyns and pheromones?
Do they know about racial memory?
Because I am thinking that a friendly Droyne nation might be persuaded to "remember" how to bulk produce Jump-2 or Jump-3 drives for trade to the Coalition, and the tech levels on Aubaine, Oriflamme and a few other coalition worlds could slap locally produced hulls around them, and that would be a huge contribution to the recovery effort.
Like everything, a historical precedent: During WWII, "high tech" Britain shipped truck engines to India, and locally produced chassis, tires and other systems were built around them to produce a complete vehicle. It saved the British a lot on shipping, and helped build up the local tech level of the Indian subcontractors.
For that matter, might there be some Hiver minds that want to supply ships to the coalition in the form of knockdown kits?
