I like that term, "confession." Do you see more as "Dave, Criminal," under
the light in the interrogation cell, or "Dave, Sinner" in the confession
booth? Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa.

There's also confession in the sense of Apostles, Nicene, and Athanasian,
the last of which is my favorite. So like I said, I like your use of the
term.

Anyway, thanks for that signpost, I was hoping someone would do something
like that, as I'd rather spend time "confessing" again rather than
researching previous confessions. That may be unseemly or self-indulgent
in me, but we have to play to our strengths. :-) <<

LOL, I guess it's more like "Dave, Sinner" in the confessional. "Forgive
me, dedicated TNE fans, for I have sinned. It has been one year and nine
months since my last 'the last days of GDW' confession."

I'm trying to picture an interrogation...

DN's head rolls around as he sits handcuffed to the chair. He wants
to wipe the sweat out of his eyes and scratch that itch behind his ear,
but he can't. He's also tired. He lost track of how many hours he's been
forced to answer their questions. He'd probably kill for a drink right
now, hell, even a cigarette. Anything to calm his nerves.
Bad cop slaps DN to get him to focus. "Tell us, dammit! What were
your plans for the Empress Wave!"

But the atmosphere of this is more like a group of pilgrims journeying
to the mountain to seek the wisdom of the hermit, for he was "the one
who saw the great works of man before it all came tumbling down."

I'm hoping that the June 2012 reference helps bardbear and other
newcomers find what they're looking for in case you forget something or
get called away to attend to other matters. There's only so many hours
in the day after all.
