I realize that I recently misspoke to someone about the names of the
Sufren Covenanter-class ships, saying one of them was Standley Cherrie. I
believe that was, in fact, a Lauritsen-class picket-type ship from
Challenge. Does anyone remember who owned that? Was that also Sufren? I
named the class, "Lauritsen," after our UPS driver at GDW because he saved
our butts so many times taking out last-second changes to the printers.
Challenge #76. Your article on CofS describes Lauritson-class Picket Ship
as: "Four of these sophisticated Gazelle variants serve in the Covenant
Navy, including the Covenant's Fleet Flagship, Standley Cherrie"
There is technical data on it on page 36 of this issue.
Standley Cherrie is also the name of Haze's governor's great-grandfather.

Stan Cherrie was the VII Corps operations officer (J-3) in Desert Storm.
Great guy, he gave me a lot of time in his interviews, lots of good
information, and access to some of his papers. (See Phase Line Smash, GDW,
1992)
