Hey, just in case the flurry of Facebook friends requests I've been
getting lately may be coming from members of this list, I don't have a
facebook page.
I did make a facebook account once so I could look at something on someone
else's page, but I don't maintain a page.
So in case it looks rude that I'm not responding to your facebook
requests, I really can't because that would require me to stick my arm
farther into the facebook meatgrinder, and I'm trying not to.

No problem, Franklin. I got yours singly, and by name the first day I came
back, and gave you my explanation at the time. Since then, I've been
getting them in clumps, like "Three people asked to be your friend," so I
don't know who to send the explanation to.

a "wall-to-wall" counseling session with Mr Zuckerberg about

Or check your spam folder. I have no control over the settings on my spam
filter(s), and sometimes it filters out my own replies to the list. No
idea why.

Rotsa ruck.
A few months back I started receiving FB notifications, friend
requests and follow notes, etc. on my hotmail account (only exists so
I could use MSN chat, now Windows Live chat).
A bit of oinvestigation, sand it turned out that some 14 year old
girl in Guatemala had used that as her email address to create an
account.
Yes, they let you start using an account without *ever* verifying
your email address.
a couple friends with FB accounts tried to say that my address had
been hijaccked. I even finally found a way to send FB support a
message saying that the person on the FB account was *not* the owner
of the email addres and I objected strongly to them hijaccking it.
FB's response was totally off the wall. They quite obviously hadn't
read the complaints at all and just thought I was complaining about
having trouble accessing the account!
Finally one of my friends submitted a password change request for
that account (yes, *anybody* can do that). Naturally, the
notification went to my email address as it was the only one on the
account.
So I just changed the password and made a post on the account telling
everyone that the user had been using someone else's email adress and
if they wanted to regain access to the account, contact me with a
*real* email address for herself, and I'd change it.
Since a number of the "friends" were listed as family, I expected
*some* sort of response.
Two weeks later, I made the account as "private" as you can get on FB
(not very) delete all her posts and photos and changed the personal
info to mine.
I still get "We're sorry you are having difficulty accessing your
account" emails every so often. Which tells me the stupid [censored]
is still trying to access it.
FB suport is obviously a joke. As is their security.
