In line with our plans to do theme issues, we'd like to actually DO
some. To that end, there are three themes that we already have SOME
material for; we'd like to fill those themes a little better and do the
actual issues. Please consider writing for these themes, and sending in
your contributions.
Contributions may be for any section of Freelance Traveller that you
feel you can write an article for. That specifically includes "meta"
articles - articles that don't tie to a specific rule set or to a
specific setting, but can be applied to multiple such, or which present
a different way of looking at Traveller entire.
The three themes we have a start on are as follows:"
Psionics: This should be pretty obvious - stories, house rules, metas,
Stuff, etc., that uses or affects the use of psionics in a Traveller
setting. In a "Third Imperium" setting, need not be set in the Imperium;
a Lecture Hall and Library or Raconteurs39; Rest look at life somewhere in
the Zhodani Consulate would be fine, for example.
Cruise: Ship profiles, shipboard activities, destinations, stories
taking place during one, etc. - It doesn't need to be "Love Boat In
Space", but it doesn't need to NOT be, either.
Dark Imperium: The Imperium is not always a nice place; there's that
scary thread running through it. If a world's government appears to be
unstable, or if there seems to be ideas being promoted that might be
perceived as undermining the Imperial Authority, the Imperial Governor
(Noble) for the world is expected to ensure that the problem is
corrected before it becomes a problem - or at least before someone above
him in the food chain notices. Just paying your taxes isn't enough.
Offending a noble could be worth your life or livelihood, and if you
don't have a higher noble backing you, nobody will say 'boo'. Truly a
rule of man instead of a rule of law, but not necessarily a brutal
tyranny.
Send your articles to the usual addresses; ideally, mark them in the
subject line for which theme issue you're proposing them for.
