Volker--
Thank you very much, that really does mean a great deal to me.
For me, working at GDW and being Traveller Line Manager and GDW Chief of
Design for four years truly was one of the great loves of my life. I gave
the very best of my life for four years to the game(s), and to the extent
that people feel that was a good thing, I am gratified that it was life
well-spent.
Re: "reading more from [me] again," for the moment, I am trying to do as
much of that as possible on this list, as well as over at Wayne's Books
(waynesbooks.com). I'm approaching this as sort of an oral history
project. As far as other stuff is concerned, I would like to try to fit
that into my life as well. I'm talking to James Maliszewski, a Traveller
contributor that I had high regard for, about the possibility of doing
something to help with his Thousand Suns game. As far as writing Traveller
stuff is concerned, at GDW we owned Traveller at the time, and that was my
job. Now that Trav has reverted to Marc, that would depend on Marc's
wishes, and my impression is that he's got his hands full with fulfilling
his own dream of T5 for now. If/when Marc clears his decks and might be
interested in doing more TNE stuff, I'd love to do that. However, for
obvious reasons, I expect he wants to pursue his own visions, and that is
only proper.
In the meantime, I'm here.
