For crying out loud, there's a significant number of people have spent over *$500* on this thing. It's mindboggling to me.

Agreed. I co-funded it because I love Traveller and have all the other rules on my shelf. If it is any good, I may even start playing again. That having been said, I have overspent on the book by a factor of three with relation to what I thought the book would be priced at on the market compared to similarly sized b/w rulebooks. Admittedly, 40USD of that is postage (which is ridiculous in itself: Is mail still delivered by coaches in the US?), and I threw in for a few extra Traveller dice (as you can never have enough dice), but it was worth that much to me (and yes, I also paid for the T5 Beta CD way back when). Why did I overpay? Because I love Traveller and want it to succeed. I wanted to contribute to the relaunch instead of just waiting for the book to come out (or not)...

If it were to be delayed as much as the beta, I'd probably be annoyed and disappointed in Marc, but right now I trust him to pull this off and use the momentum to at least also give us the announced Galaxiad campaign after that.
