No, and yes. No in that in broad campaign outline terms, something called
the RC had to move up coreward, meet the Regency, help destroy what's
behind the Black Curtain, etc. Yes in that all of the internal color like
the factionalism provides hooks for us to hang later developments as they
need to come up. And yes, the fact that the historical quotes show a
future where "Star Vikings" were thought of pejoratively by many shows
that the RC did not survive in a way to successfully write history and
defend the "we were defenders, we were the free" message. Certainly the
bulk of the populace from within where the RC was are still there, but the
RC as a unified voice that got to see that its message was articulated
properly to posterity was not there in sufficient force to see that was
done. Pat Ritter might still be around to know better, but he may be
retired to a cabin like some of the post-Firefly fiction indicates Mal
Reyonds was. That, or off to the Core.
Since I reminded myself of this earlier today, did you get anything out of
playing Pete Townshend? Or am I just an old sentimental sop?
