I think with the Mark 1 Mod 1 TNE, December 1993, government allegiance codes don't directly affect trade, save for Rich Worlds. However, the Rich World designation does not apply to worlds in the Wilds, nullifying this problem. Eamon -- in my notes, the main issue for the errata on the Wilds codes is that it doesn't work with the Trade system. Also, I released new errata (0.03) in January which has errata for some of the errata.
As to sources, I started with the few items Marc had, but I've been in contact with both Frank (who allowed me to use material from Test of Battle in the errata) and Loren. Sadly, neither of them had saved much after all this time.
And if you have details to let the Wilds codes work in the Trade system, I'd love to have that. Otherwise, the errata is basically to define TEDs using the original standard gov codes, and note that it is a TED.
On the other hand, not too much trade going on with the TEDs...
Now, if Dave (or anyone else) has notes or suggestions, I'm ready to start on v0.04 of the errata...
