The problem with adequate warning about Virus is that you'd not only have
to get there ahead of it, you'd have to know what it was, how serious it
was, what to do about it, and have the credibility to be listened to.
(Imagine September 10, 2001, "no really, they're going to hijack four
planes at the same time...) If you want to go that way, I'd say go all the
way and say it was someone involved in Lucan's faction who knew the nature
of the weapon, like maybe a scientist or military weaponeer, was born in
Banners, saw what was going to happen and high-tailed it out of there in a
Jump 6 courier to save his homeland with a tech manual.
