Personally, I think the controversy about TNE is a bit silly. At best, a
permanently shattered Imperium would have resulted from the horror of the
Rebellion. Nobody was going to kiss and make up after what had gone on,
especially after the Black War. Problem is, then everybody starts to pick
factions and then you get the problems you have now with the Battletech
folks where they are going on and on about how the writers are screwing
"their" faction. And as you said often, all the factions were pretty
morally questionable after the Black War. Traveller is supposed to stand
for something, and I for one am glad you reminded us of that. I think MJD
did a good job of taking that ball and running with it in 1248, but I do
wonder, in so far that you can tell us, what was going to be ahead for the
RC and the Regency?
