See how many favorite people you get when you sign on a TNE list? ;-) I always suspected the flak over H&I was more the product of a vocal minority than anything else, because every TNE player I've ever talked to either liked the book, or at least thought it was OK. I've yet to actually encounter a person who was part of the supposed tidal wave of rage over it. Of course, that's completely nonscientific, and this many years down the road I doubt we'll ever know for sure.
FF&S was a hoot. Some of my best college memories are of trying to come up with a TL-12 weapon that could seriously annoy a Trepida grav-tank for when the Regency came over the hill. My favorite was the grav sled mounting a 6" gun firing nuclear shells...hate to file the EIS on that baby.
