Yeah, that's very cool. And the freeware version has enough
functionality to be useful. I'm due to make some maps for the campaign
I'm running. This might make for a nicer/easier alternate. If you don't
mind, I'd like to see what you did for WTH.

I can't believe I haven't seen this until just now:

<http://www.inkwellideas.com/roleplaying_tools/hexographer/index.shtml>

It's a automatic, map generating, hex-based wonder! I tested it out and
it would even work for the bizarre world maps given to us by the World
Tamer's Handbook...with a little creative work-around.

Has anyone else seen this? What do people think of it? I think I'm going
to buy the full version unless others here have had a poor experience with
it or something. The free version is awesome, but I just prefer my
software to not access the internet (*cough*).

To use with the world map format in WTH, I just created a new map that was
22 hex's high by 35 wide with true rows set instead of true columns.
Then, once it had loaded, I removed the hexes that are not in use by the
WTH format, leaving the ones that were just a 'piece' of a hex as a whole
hex. Then, for all the hexes that were supposed to be only a part of a
hex I just made sure that they were the same on both 'sides' and
considered the map to be overlapping at those points.

This program will enable me to do the myriad of maps I was wanting to do
but kept putting off because I figured I had to do them by hand. Sweeeet.
