The figures obtained using the printed FF&S rules for reload time for terrestrial heavy weapons are far too long compared with RL weapons. One suggestion for CPR guns is:
Replace the first para. of the rule on FF&S page 108 with "The time the (CPR) weapon requires to reload is a function of its muzzle energy and any mechanical assistance provided. The base number of five-second turns required to load a round is equal to its muzzle energy (in megajoules) divided by 5, rounding factions to the nearest whole number (but always rounding fractional values less than 1 up to 1)."
Replace the Mass Driver Reloading rule on page 111 with: "Mass Driver reloading is a function of the round mass. The number of five second turns required for reloading a single round is equal to the round mass divided by 20, rounding fractions to the nearest whole number (but with fractional values of less than 0.5 meaning a round can be fired every combat turn). If an autoloader is available, multiply projectile mass by 0.3 for purposes of this calculation."
