I agree with you there. Already 20 years ago the Aegis system could
engage 30+ targets simultaneuosly. And the Aegis system is primarily a
SAM system.

Most SSM systems are fire and forget. Thus a any ship would be able to
engage several target at once. But it also depends on how many
operators that are available to process the target information prior
to launch.

I agree that Maneuver drive and Jump drive volume should be taken into
consideration.

If you look hard enough FF&S2 got rules for different autmation
levels. However, the information is hidden in the text and not in a
table.
