Nick, your TL-13 vacuum world sounds like a magnet, for your crew and
trouble. They are going to want to go on recovery missions there so
you might want to throw in vampire robots that go around shooting at
anything that moves. Also on this world you could meet the
beginnings of the future Far Trader Network, but remember these guys
have just gone through the same terror your home world did and they
did not have your assets to defend themselves with so they are going
to be jittery to say the least. Also this would be the time that
military juntas would pop up on worlds that have been hit by vampire
raids, these juntas by there very nature will have access to ships,
the big 10,000 ton ones will be gone but they most likely have a few
small military and auxiliary craft that they are using to recover
tech for themselves. In our Coalition campaign we play as Lancers
affiliated with a Coalition group that is like the US Coast Guard,
coalition auxiliaries, Lancers and Free Traders will give their
planetary flight route to this group and if and if the ship is late
or sends an SOS say via the Free Trader Network the Guard sends a
recovery ship so SAR missions might work for you. Survey missions to
the outer system to recover some piece of equipment from the wreckage
of the battle with the vampires that attacked your world, or to see
if a valuable mine could be reopened or if it even survived. On your
home world perhaps there is a rumor about a "falling star" that
landed in the ocean near a fishing boat run by an old man that no one
will believe may be he saw a SDB going in??? You can also go to the
Traveller Web Ring, there is a LOT of adventure ideas to be mined
here, also I don't know if its politically correct to put in a plug
