The article said it was near one of them, but that the rover itself was actually outside the projected blast area. Mind you, predicting these things is not an "exact" science. ;)

Isn't it supposed to be coming down in the same area (in geographical terms)
as one of those NASA rovers?

Never mind Hubble - we've got several orbiters around the red planet
and IIRC one of them (MRO?) at least should have a good view of the
event... (if it happens).

I hope it does hit, it might wake people up to the threat here too...
