Mongoose Traveller has become the new heavyweight
for future Traveller products. Marc Miller has decreed that all licensees will
have to go through Mongoose (Unfortunately he didn't bother to tell any of
them. He left that to Mongoose). New and renewed licenses will have to
follow Mongoose's terms, which means their rules. And T5 (if it ever
happens) will be a superset of Mongoose's rules.
Mongoose has chosen 1105 as the milieu they're
going to start with. No word if other milieus will be considered going down the
road.
TNE-1248 will quite possibly become
orphaned once Avenger's license expires. No definite word yet. Avenger is still
inquiring.
Martin J. Dougherty, the head of Avenger, will
be writing the setting material for Mongoose's "flagship" product, a Spinward
Marches setting. MJD has said that he'll try to clear up the inconsistencies
that crept up over the decades and versions of material. He fully expects the
grognards to burn him in effigy.
