Wouldn't it be safe to assume that any pre-Collapse high population world and worlds with a pre-Collapse naval or scout base would automatically have some level vampire fleet activity (either stranded or passing through or both)?
As for "crazy robots" the truly suicidal ones would be long gone (except see below), though some genocidal ones would still exist, mostly however by this point they should be evolving toward creating something resembling orderly societies, even if only at a tribal level, and perhaps incorporating humans as slaves (as we've seen described in the TNE materials).
A lot would depend too on the processing power of the thing that was infected. There would be many, many robots that simply cease to function (one would presume that in pre-Collapse society redundant fail safes would be built in such that if a robot went "whacky", it'd simply short circuit itself or shut itself down until such time someone came along and repaired it...lawyers still exist in the 58th century after all...). Of course waking a robot after such an episode without taking precautions to ensure it didn't do something rather rash would be very, very (times 100) dangerous if it were infected with an early suicidal Virus strain.
All this leads to a discussion of robotic fauna in the TNE setting, of course. New thread required there I think.
