I think maybe what you mean by that is my caricature of some Traveller
players saying, "this is stupid, that would never happen" makes them more
high-strung and less open to "cool" silly/goofy stuff.

If so, I would have to describe myself as mostly being on the "serious"
end of the spectrum, where everything should be serious and mature and
realistic. But as a ref I found that whenever I would do something that I
thought of as "too comic-booky" the players always loved it. What I mean
by that is enemies that they can never quite kill, who escape at the last
moment like Doctor Doom and taunt them, to return again when they least
expect it. Nothing makes the group sit up at the table and start smiling
like the thought of, "we'll get him this time." SFRPG players do like some
"comic book" elements, and as a ref I found that I had to be open to that
and willing to try it.
