St. Petersburg Utility WIG
design by Pete Grey
This design takes its name following old
COAAC convention, in this case in honor of Russian
pioneers in WIG flight design and mechanics. In
actuality the design is inspired by the Flightship 8
WIG, a joint Austrailian/German design that is just
now going into production. Unlike the FS-8, the St.
Petersburg has a very high endurance, which would
enable it to circumnavigate a size 7 world on one tank
of fuel. (Incidentally, the FS-8s is listed with a 22
KW engine, which isn't too far from the 48 KW engine
listed below)
